Roots Neck Scarf is dedicated to centuries-old Ukrainian history, which continues to be created today by Armed Forces of Ukraine. The design is based on the archetype of Ukrainian culture — the tree of life, which depicts the history of Ukraine from the birth of statehood to the present day. Traditional folk symbols used in the design: the oak, which means the strength of Ukrainians; birds that reflect the spiritual world; flowers that mark the present and future of Ukraine. Signs of Trypil culture are also interwoven.
The scarf is dedicated to the anthem of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and quotes its first lines: «We were born in the great hour, From the fires of war, and the flames of fire, We were nurtured for the fate of Ukraine, We arose with anger and rage against enemies.» The lyrics of the song are a modified text of the OUN Anthem of 1932.
